Two Discovered Dead Following Flooding in San Antonio, Texas

(MENAFN) A man and woman, believed to be friends, were discovered dead following heavy overnight flooding in San Antonio, Texas, authorities confirmed.

William McManus, the city's police chief, reported that an acquaintance alerted officials to their disappearance, and a friend later found the woman's body on Monday morning.

The man's body was located approximately 100 yards downstream along Salado Creek, close to San Antonio International Airport, McManus added in a statement to WOAI, the city's NBC affiliate.

Both victims appear to have been homeless, McManus noted. The identities of the deceased have not yet been disclosed, and investigations into their deaths are ongoing.

San Antonio experienced more than four inches of rain by 7 a.m. Monday, with National Weather Service data revealing that nearly two inches fell within a three-hour span late Sunday.
