Arab Leaders Convene in Qatar for Emergency Summit
According to a Qatari state news agency, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould El-Ghazaouani landed at Hamad International Airport, where he was received by Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
UAE Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marar also reached the Qatari capital to join preliminary gatherings of Arab foreign ministers in preparation for the summit.
The summit was convened by Qatar after an Israeli strike targeted Hamas leadership in Doha on Tuesday.
The attack resulted in the deaths of five group members and a Qatari security officer.
Qatar, alongside the US and Egypt, has played a mediating role in negotiations aimed at ending the devastating Israeli war on Gaza, which has claimed more than 64,800 lives since October 2023.
